Eligibility Criteria for IOCL Paradip Apprenticeship

Candidates must meet the following criteria as of 31-05-2025:

A. Educational Qualifications

  1. Completion: Must have already passed the required qualification. Results awaited candidates are ineligible.

  2. Mode: Only regular, full-time courses from recognized Boards/Universities/Institutes are accepted. Part-time/Distance/Correspondence modes are not eligible.

  3. Minimum Marks:

    • General/EWS/OBC: 50% aggregate marks in Class XII/Graduate/Diploma.

    • SC/ST/PwBD (against reserved seats): 45% aggregate marks.

    • ITI (Fitter): Pass class is sufficient.

  4. Specific Disciplines: Only qualifications mentioned against each trade code are valid.

  5. CGPA/Grade Conversion: If applicable, provide an official conversion certificate to percentage during Document Verification (DV).

  6. Higher Qualifications: Candidates with BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA, etc., or those pursuing higher education are not eligible.

  7. Prior Experience/Training:

    • Cannot have undergone prior apprenticeship training.

B. Age Limit

  1. Minimum Age: 18 years.

  2. Maximum Age: 24 years (as of 31-05-2025) for General/EWS candidates.

  3. Relaxations:

    • SC/ST: +5 years

    • OBC (NCL): +3 years

    • PwBD: +10 years (additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC PwBD candidates as per rules).

  • No Written Test: Selection is based solely on merit.

  • Merit Calculation: Based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination (aggregate of all subjects/semesters/years).

  • Tie-Breaker:

    1. Older candidate (based on Date of Birth) gets preference.

    2. If DOB is also the same, higher marks in Matriculation (Class X) decide the rank.
